Concentrations
The following are descriptions of each concentration offered at Greek Conference Charlotte and Indy. When you register, you will choose one and spend time in these groups with other Greeks throughout the weekend.
Encounter
Is God real? Why is the world so broken if God is good? Was Jesus really God? Can I trust what the Bible has to say? These are just a few questions that are fair game in the Encounter concentration. If you are looking to engage thoughtfully and critically with questions like this then you should come to Encounter. There is no judgement, just honest discussion about God with other Greeks who are asking similar questions.
Connect
Following Jesus is a lifelong journey that comes with highs and lows. If you are just beginning the journey, feeling lost along the way or are looking for practical help to grow in your faith, the connect concentration is a good place for you. Connect is a concentration that gives you the opportunity to connect with God in a new and fresh way, and opens up the discussion of God’s role in our life.
Thrive
For Christians, life in the Greek system presents constant challenges and temptations. What if it was possible to do more than just survive amidst these situations? Jesus came that we might have life abundantly. The Thrive concentration tackles the issues Greeks face and provides help to thrive amidst the situations in your house. Rather than focusing on merely the surface of these issues, Thrive shows us that God cares about changing us from the inside not just following rules.
Lead
Important: Must be a potential or current Greek ministry leader on your campus
Your brothers and sisters might not come to a church service or go to a campus ministry meeting, but what if a Bible study was in their very own house? The Lead concentration is all about equipping followers of Christ in fraternities and sororities with the tools to lead Bible studies in their Greek houses and on campus. Hear from speakers who have been through the challenges of house ministry, learn the philosophy of Greek IV’s ministry and get trained as a leader on your campus.
Influence
Important: Must be a graduating senior or have been through Lead to qualify
You have been blessed to be a blessing. Learn how to use your talents and gifts both on campus and in your life following graduation for the sake of God’s kingdom. This concentration will look at issues of justice, stewardship, outreach and influence to help your transition to life after college and to be an influence to people in your house.
If you are still unsure of which concentration to choose, contact your campus staff member, or contact us with your question.
