God Revealing Himself at Conference

#GCXII is in full swing! Lunch break is over (the local restaurants are probably thrilled!) and concentrations are back together figuring out different ways to encounter, connect, thrive, lead, and influence.

One thing is clear through the many conversations, questions, discussions, and prayers God is revealing Himself in many ways at Greek Conference!

Stay tuned…but here is a quick teaser. Speaker Beau Crosetto tweeted earlier that at tonight’s talk at General Session God will reveal two things to us and REDEFINE one. What will that be? Better focus on concentrations and rest up before General Session tonight to find out!

And one more thing before you go…this year marks the 20th anniversary of Greek InterVarsity’s ministry on campus! Alumni and staff will be gathering to celebrate with a dinner at 6pm and a trip down memory lane to see the ministry work with fraternity and sorority students over the years. Praise God for an amazing 20 years!

625 Greeks and Counting…Indy Greek Conference 2012

Have you heard?! Greek IV Conference is in the Super City this weekend and boasting a super number of cool sorority and fraternity all-stars. 625 Greeks and counting are here in Indianapolis for the weekend to learn about what it means to be both Greek and Christian. And the FUN has begun.

The Epic Final Match of: Rock, Paper, Scissors

General Session housed the largest game of “Rock, Paper, Scissors” Indy has seen or well maybe the Marriott East Hotel and the winners were decided.

Kristina and Beau Crosetto, the weekend’s speakers made the trek from the West Coast to share some of their lives with students this weekend. Stories were shared (a funny one about Beau revealing himself to Kristina’s mom!) as well as a great story from John 2 about Jesus turning water into wine. ”Are you open?” is the question both the Crosetto’s asked of students to see what God can reveal to them this weekend.

Concentrations and Campus Parties are left on the agenda for tonight. We’re as excited as you that Greek Conference 2012 is almost here. Why not #GCXII memorable by highlighting your times with your friends and fellow attendees? Like, literally. You read that correctly…the GC 2012 Saturday Night Dance Party Theme is “Highlighter Party.”
At this time, we must kindly ask you to please leave your marked up highlighted books and notes at home, but kindly do bring those bright neon to Charlotte for a dance party you’ll never want to forget.

What you need to bring

- An old white T-shirt
- Your favorites pack of highlighters
- Glow sticks
- Anything else that is a HIGHLIGHTER shade of neon
- Glowing Grillz (optional)

Official GC12 Schedule

This is the official Greek Conference schedule for both Charlotte and Indianapolis. Plan ahead and make the most of your travel plans and free time on Saturday. Talk to your staff member or send an email here if you need to arrive late on Friday or leave early on Sunday. Bonus points if your attire matches the nametag.

Registration Deadline

Online registration closes at 2 PM on the Friday of Greek Conference. It will open again on-site at 4 PM. The best plan is to pay your balance in-full on the Thursday before Greek Conference.

Room with your friends at GC12

Want to room with friends at Greek Conference? There is no pre-housing, so follow these instructions:

1) Pay your remaining balance before arriving (instructions & link above)

2) Decide who your roommates will be and plan to arrive at the hotel at the same time

3) Find each other; take a picture at the welcome signs

4) Go through the registration line together and let the volunteers know that your group of four wants to stay in a room together

Only person from your school? Don’t worry, we’ll set you up when you arrive at GC!

What if one of your roommates arrives later than planned? No worries. If his or her balance is paid in full, you can tell the registration volunteers who you would like to room with. If your friend did not pay their balance ahead of time, you can get their card information over the phone and pay the balance so you can room together. You will NOT be able to get put in the same room unless all balances are paid in full.

Didn’t pay your balance before arriving at GC? You can still pay your balance on-site. But it will help to streamline your registration process if you pay your balance before arriving at the hotel.

The Hunger Game: Dinner on Friday night

Grab dinner on your way to Greek Conference, whether that’s in the airport, before you leave, or at the hotel. Get the hotel address for Indianapolis and Charlotte here and check out the options for food around the area.

Or perhaps we should say, you’ve got the answers and we’ve got the questions. To help you find the GC concentration that is right for you, we’ve put together a short Survey that helps suggest a concentration based on your responses to some basic questions.

If you still need help deciding on a concentration, it’s always good to get a recommendation from your Greek InterVarsity staff or a friend who has been to GC in the past. What do bulletin boards, bathroom stalls, mirrors, couches, piles of magazines and mailboxes all have in common? You guessed it: these locations are prime real estate for parking those Greek Conference promotional materials.

We apologize for belittling your brainpower with the easy riddle; you probably know the best places for promo materials already! But would you know what to do when it comes to personally inviting someone to Greek Conference face-to-face? This recruitment guide will answer your questions about why it is so important to personally invite individuals and share your GC stories with them.

What’s the promo about?

Greek Conference isn’t always what people are expecting it to be. Who can blame them though? Plenty of stereotypes come to mind when thinking of Greeks & Christians, so a conference that claims to bring the two identities together is ripe for ridicule. But what actually happens at GC? We hope you join us this February in Indianapolis or Charlotte to see for yourself.
