Why Get Away?

Greeks live life on the go. Classes, study hours, chapter and leadership meetings, intramural and philanthropy events, and endless social events make for a full and fun time. Yet, being surrounded by people, activities, and screens constantly vying for our time, attention and energy can sometimes leave us over scheduled and overwhelmed.

Greek Getaway is a rare weekend away to reflect more deeply about our lives, form deeper friendships with our brothers and sisters, and, of course, have a good time doing it!

There are many places you can go to hear about God. But where do you go to hear from God?

You can learn more about God from Sunday services, podcasts, blogs, books and more. But where do you go to hear from God? To actually experience him in a deeper, bigger, and more real, interactive way? To hear what he has to say about your life not just of those long ago?

Greek Getaway is a unique chance to get away from the grind and noise of campus life to the still and quiet beauty of nature. With extended, guided quiet time on your own, you’ll have an opportunity to actually hear from God (not just more about him).

You get to know a lot of people in Greek Life. But how well do we get to know each other?

At the end of the day, we don’t just want many friends, but meaningful friends. We want friends who know us, get us, and see us for who we are not just how we want to be seen.

Greek Getaway is an opportunity to get away from the social pressures of Greek Life and have deeper conversations about how we’re really doing. It’s a weekend to make new friends and get to know our best friends even better.
